The role of the European Network of EFECOT
It is EFECOTās objective is to implement the Resolution of 1989 on school provisions for children of Occupational Travellers: the creation and promotion of educational provisions adapted to the particular needs of the Occupational Travellers and stopping them falling through the educational and social net.
To achieve this EFECOT co-ordinates a number
of transnational educational actions and projects, supported by different
Directorates General of the European Commission.
Of course, these actions and projects draw their force from and could not
exist without the network of 156 European partners who co-operate in these
actions.
This Europe-wide network is the
cornerstone of EFECOTās workplan.
But of what or whom does this network consist? Who are these European
partners?
A heterogeneous group of persons and organisations, having in common that
all of them - on different levels and in various areas - are involved in the
education and training of Travelling Populations:
These partners take part in one or more project(s) of EFECOT and are involved in several stages of project development: project planning, the production of publications, learning materials, teaching tools, testing of products, evaluation, dissemination, ... Their input from the field is extremely valuable.
EFECOT co-ordinates this network. EFECOT:
Networking and solid European-wide co-operation are a key words in EFECOTās workplan, which is appropriately entitled "In Partnership We Progress"
