Report on the situation of the circus and circus artists in the European Union Member states.

The Committee on Culture, Youth, Education, the Media and Sport of the European Parliament asked the Directorate-General for Research to draft a report on the situation of the circus and circus artists in the European Union Member states. The aim of the study was facilitating a better understanding of the situation of the circus in the E.U. from different perspectives: circus as a business, - as an art from, and circus as a family and way of life education. The study has been conducted with the collaboration of European Federation for the Education of the Children of Occupational Travellers-EFECOT, European Circus Association-ECA, the European Agency for Safety and health at work and other organisations, associations, circuses, artists, and official bodies related to circuses. Investigations have been made in most of the European Union Member states.
