  This compendium of Circus Terms has been composed because circus people often have their own characteristic vocabulary, which has not been entered in regular dictionaries.
  The compendium contains 116 words (in Danish, Dutch, English, French, German and Spanish) that can be considered as being part of the basic vocabulary of circus people.
  How to use the database?
  You enter the word of which you would like to know the translation and indicate from which (the language the word is entered in) into which language it should be translated. Then you click on Îshow wordsâ. A record containing the following information will appear:
- the word in the language it was entered
- a description of the word in the language it was entered
- the translation of the word in the language chosen
- a description of the word in the language chosen
