It was EFECOT's objective to create and promote education adapted to the particular needs of Occupational Travellers.

That is why EFECOT co-ordinated and took part in a considerable amount of educational projects and actions, supported by various Directorates General of the European Commission. EFECOT co-ordinated projects within the framework of the European Education Programme SOCRATES. These projects ranged under the Comenius Chapter Action 2 (Education of the children of migrant workers, travellers and Gypsies).
Next to this EFECOT also organised two major projects within the framework of the Telematics Applications Programme of DG XIII: TOPILOT and FLEX.

The QWATRA-project, submitted under the European LEONARDO DA VINCI programme, covered the vocational training aspect of EFECOT actions.
